Take Time to Smell the Flowers

Ok... Another vacation post.  I'm trying to learn how to do this blog thing and what better time to do it than when I'm relaxing on the porch of my family's home in the mountains of Virginia?

Remembering to be fully present and to focus on gratitude is a message I keep receiving.

So, while I am here, I'm putting it into practice.  Hopefully, when I return to my life in Fort Myers, I'll maintain the focus on what I appreciate... especially the miracle of nature.

My mother-in-law has created a beautiful retreat here on the hundred acre woods in the Shenendoah Valley.  While the landscape is breathtaking in and of itself, she has guilded the lily with her gardening.  I'm practicing gratitude and presence as I appreciate the beauty of her flowers.

What is special about your surroundings?  How can you focus your energy on appreciation and gratitude this summer?
